Nā Leo TV is proud to support Hawaiʻi Island youth who are pursuing careers in the creative industries through the Ho‘olono Scholarship.

The name reflects the spirit of the work we hope to inspire. Ho‘o means “to make,” and lono refers to “a report or the sharing of news.” Together, they evoke the act of bringing stories to life – of listening deeply, creating with purpose, and sharing voices that help our communities better understand themselves.

At Nā Leo TV, we believe the next generation of storytellers is already here. The Ho‘olono Scholarship supports young people who feel called to document their communities, explore important issues, and create media that informs, inspires, and connects people across Hawai‘i Island.

The scholarship provides financial support to students pursuing studies in broadcasting, journalism, digital media, filming, communications, or other creative media-related fields.

The Ho‘olono Scholarship is awarded twice each year and is open to Hawai‘i Island high school graduates and current college students.
