Nā Leo TV is dedicated to fostering the talents of Hawai‘i Island youth and is excited to introduce the Ho‘o Lono Scholarship.  Ho‘o means "to make," and lono means "a report or news." This scholarship supports Hawai‘i Island youth who are passionate about creating and sharing stories that matter. It symbolizes our belief in the importance of nurturing our island youth as they embark on their journeys in the fields of broadcast, journalism, digital and creative media, or a related discipline.

The Ho‘o Lono Scholarship is for Hawai‘i Island youth who are:

  • Graduating from high school and accepted into a two- or four-year college pursuing a major that aligns with these fields, or

  • Currently attending a post-secondary institution and majoring in one of these fields with a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Each year, we award multiple scholarships of $1,000 each, ahead of Fall and Spring semesters, to deserving students to assist with costs in attending college. Through this financial support, Nā Leo TV hopes to encourage and facilitate the educational and professional growth of future media professionals who will contribute to and enrich Hawai‘i's content ecosystem.
